ACTIVITY
Black Banquet 2: Villain's Intro
Redemption's Spotlight
This year, Black Banquet celebrates the heroes we almost never see: villains seeking redemption. We invite solo cosplayers to tell the story of your character's transformation through a captivating one-minute monologue skit.
Here's what we're looking for in your villain's intro:
The Road Less Traveled:
- Evolution, Not Just Destruction: Your skit should reveal how your villain grappled with their past misdeeds and forged a new path. Was it a selfless act, a moment of clarity, or something else entirely?
- Infamy to Inspiration: Even villains can inspire. Showcase your character's notoriety, but also hint at the potential for transformation or the unexpected impact they may have had.
Memorable Moments:
- Clarity Counts: Introduce your character efficiently, providing intriguing details without overwhelming the audience. Leave them wanting more!
- Creative Spark: Go beyond the typical villain's monologue. Use symbolism, metaphor, or an innovative performance style to bring your character to life.
- Star Power: Make your villain shine! Demonstrate why they're a beloved icon despite their past actions. What makes them stand out and resonate with fans?
Remember:
- Respect the Ball: While your character may walk a dark path, maintain common decency and respect for your fellow attendees during your performance.
- Safety First: All acts must prioritize the safety of yourself and the audience. Dangerous actions or props are strictly prohibited.
- Time is Precious: You have one minute to wow the judges. Make every second count!
Judging Criteria:
- Clarity (35%): Did the introduction effectively convey the character's past and potential for redemption?
- Creativity (35%): Did the skit showcase a unique perspective on the character and their transformation?
- Overall Appeal (30%): Did the performance captivate the audience and leave them wanting more? Does the character live up to their iconic status?
Black Banquet 2 isn't just a costume party; it's a celebration of second chances. Unleash your inner villain (with a heart of gold) and shine!
The Dress Code
The Black Banquet is a special night for the Bacolod cosplay community. We aim to maintain the integrity and formality of the occasion through a dress code, which are as follows:

- Only those in VILLAIN costumes SHALL BE ELIGIBLE TO JOIN THE RAFFLE, GAMES, AND OFFICIAL EVENT PHOTOS.
- Casual Clothes WILL STILL BE ALLOWED TO ENTER, BUT WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO JOIN THE RAFFLE, GAMES, AND OFFICIAL EVENT PHOTOS.
- Sexually revealing, lewd and inappropriate costumes shall not be allowed. Organizers reserve the right to deny such costumes entry.
Clarification and additional information:
