ACTIVITY
Black Banquet 3: Tales of Triumph
This year, Black Banquet celebrates those who dared to rise above adversity. We invite solo cosplayers to tell the story of their character's journey of transformation through a captivating one-minute monologue skit.
Here's what we're looking for in your character's introduction:
The Road Less Traveled:
- Triumph Over Trials: Your skit should reveal how your character overcame challenges, whether they be personal struggles, societal limitations, or internal demons. How did they rise above adversity?
- Inspiration in Action: Showcase how your character's journey of resilience can inspire others. Did they overcome adversity to achieve greatness? Did they use their experiences to help others?
Memorable Moments:
- Clarity Counts: Introduce your character efficiently, providing intriguing details without overwhelming the audience. Leave them wanting more!
- Creative Spark: Go beyond the typical character introduction. Use symbolism, metaphor, or an innovative performance style to bring your character's journey to life.
- A Beacon of Hope: Demonstrate why your character's story of resilience is compelling and resonates with audiences. What makes their journey unique and inspiring?
Remember:
- Respect the Ball: Maintain a respectful and inclusive atmosphere throughout your performance.
- Safety First: All acts must prioritize the safety of yourself and the audience. Dangerous actions or props are strictly prohibited.
- Time is Precious: You have one minute to wow the judges. Make every second count!
Judging Criteria:
- Clarity (35%): Did the introduction effectively convey the character's journey of resilience and their triumphs over adversity?
- Creativity (35%): Did the skit showcase a unique and inspiring perspective on the character's story?
- Overall Appeal (30%): Did the performance captivate the audience and leave a lasting impression?
Black Banquet 3 is a celebration of those who dared to dream and rise above. Unleash your inner hero and share your character's inspiring story!
